Honeymoon in Dubai

Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa.

When looking for honeymoon destinations we flutter with loads of ideas - Route 66, San Fransisco, NYC, Dominican Republic or Dubai where our top locations. We know we wanted a luxury honeymoon. We work hard and after 2 years of wedding planning, the stress levels were hitting the roof. Being a shopaholic and fallen in love with NYC the year before, I was desperate to hit those Manhattan streets again. In the end, my husband talked me round to a relaxing beach holiday, and after going on Expedia, we found some amazing deals for Dubai.

Dubai wasn't a country I had thought of traveling to before. Mostly due to my lack of knowledge of the city. I thought it would be expensive and a little difficult to keep to the dress code. I hold my hands up here and say, I was ignorant and wrong.  Dubai is an amazing city, relaxed, fashionable and extremely friendly. I would say its now one of my favorite cities, up there with NYC.

Booking

We used Expedia to book our flights and Hotel. I always use Expedia, as I find they have some of the best prices and hotels. Their website is super easy to use. The only thing is, on most bookings, you have to pay everything up front. This can be quite intimidating especially when holidays can cost over £1000.

Hotel

Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa.
After flicking through the pages of Expedia - the hotels in Dubai looked out of this world. We choose to stay at the Palm Jumeriah Resort. We wanted to be at the beach and feel very relaxed. I also went on google maps, and had a wee noisy at were the Dubai mall was in relation to the hotels and other attractions and thought it would be a great base.

The hotel we stayed at was the Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa. If I could have lived in this hotel for the rest of my life I would have. It was relaxing, chic, comfy and 5-star luxury. The staff went above and beyond to the customer service. Everyone was very professional, friendly, relaxing and extremely welcoming. The room was amazing, with lots of good room, highest of quality and air-conditioned to the max. With tempters hitting the late 30's in the morning this was brilliant. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to Dubai.

Flights

Flying from Glasgow International was a must for me. I wanted something simple and direct. We flew with British Airways to NYC and was looking into flying with them to Dubai. But to be honest, when we saw Emirates had direct flights to Dubai it was a no-brainer. I had flow with Emirates years ago to Australia and loved them. They did not disappoint, amazing flight and friendly staff.

I could go on and on about Dubai all day if you left me to it. But as this post is already on the long side will just say if Dubai is in your price range this year for a Honeymoon or just a luxury break book it. I am also working on a fashion post for Dubai, so watch this space.
